平成３０年１月１７日（水）から１月３０日（火）の約２週間、マレーシアプトラ大学(UPM)の学生２２名が本学を訪問し、短期受入れプログラムに参加しました。学習教育センターグローバルラーニング支援部門がプログラムのコーディネートを実施しました。 22 students from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) visited Kyutech from January 17th to January 30th, 2018, as a mobility program between Kyutech and UPM.

参加学生は戸畑キャンパスで、正多面体（三村文武名誉教授）、熱放射による熱伝導（Laurent Tranchant特任助教）、質量とエネルギーの等価性（Alok Jha助教）などの授業を英語で受講し、超伝導体による永久磁石の浮上実験（小田部荘司教授）やスズキカップリングに関する実験と香料の合成（北村充教授・岡内辰夫准教授）を体験しました。また研究室訪問では、ロボット（西田健准教授）、レーザーフォーミング（北村貴典准教授）、小型人工衛星（金相均助教）に関する研究について説明を受け、九工大ならではの学習を体験しました。 Through the program students experienced several classes and laboratory tours by Kyutech professors. These include a lecture on polyhedra by Prof. Mimura (professor emeritus), on heat transfer by thermal radiation by Dr. Tranchant (Factulty of Engineering), and on mass-energy equivalence relation, as well as an experiment on superconductivity by Prof. Otabe (Faculty of Computer Science and Systems Engineering), and on Suzuki-coupling by Prof. Kitamura and Assoc. Prof. Okauchi. At the laboratory tours, Assoc. Prof. Nishida explained about robots while Assoc. Prof. Kitamura (Factulty of Engineering) held a short lecture on laser forming and Assist. Prof. Kim on small satellites.

さらには学習教育センターによるワークショップや北九州市環境局の出前講演により持続可能な社会について学び、エコタウン、シャボン玉石けん、安川電機での工場見学を通して最新技術や環境への配慮にも触れました。日本語講座では初歩的な日本語を習い、芦屋釜の里、伊東研究室の学生による伝統的な文化の紹介、キャンパスツアー、九工大バディとの小倉・門司散策、学生プロジェクトの紹介（KIT-Formula）などを通じて、九工大や日本の社会・文化についても知識を深めたようです。 Participants also attended workshops on sustainability offered by Learning & Teaching Center and visited Eco-town Center, Shabondama Soap Co., Ltd., and Yaskawa Electric Corporation to learn about the latest technology and their commitments for environmental protection. Participants were able to get to know about Japanese culture and Kyutech through Japanese classes, visits to Ashiyagama-no-sato, and interaction with students from Itoh laboratory and Kyutech buddies.
