２０１９年１月１７日（木）～２６日（土）、情報工学部 機械情報工学科の学生４名と教員１名が米国ニューヨーク州にあるクラークソン大学で機械情報分野ワークショップの参加および国際共同研究を行いました。
During Jan 17 to 26, 2019 (EST. time), 4 students and 1 faculty of the Department of Mechanical Information Science and Technology participated workshop in mechanical informatics and carried out the international collaborative at Clarkson University, Potsdam, NY.

クラークソン大学と本学は、２０１１年から学生と教員の派遣・受入などの交流を続けています。今回のワークショップも本学大学院情報工学研究院 機械情報工学研究系 伊藤高廣 教授の監修の元で実施しました。
There have been collaborative and exchange programs between Clarkson University and Kyutech since 2011. This workshop was held under the supervision of Professor Dr. Takahiro Ito.

滞在中、学生４人は、クラークソン大学のメンバーと議論を重ね、光センサーからの情報に基づく自動走行アクチュエータの製作に取り組んだり、クラークソン大学の学生生活を体験しました。
4 students had a chance to discuss with Clarkson University members to construct autopilot actuators based on information form an optical sensors. They also definitely could learn and enjoy the student life in the US style university during their staying.

また、同行した本学同研究系のカチョーンルンルアン パナート准教授は、クラークソン大学のBabu Suryadevara特別栄誉教授の研究室で光応用ナノスケール観測技術の共同研究を遂行しました。
Besides, Associate Professor Dr. Panart Khajornrungruang spared his time in the laboratory of Distinguished University Professor Dr. Babu Suryadevara for conducting collaboration in applied optics in nanoscale observation.

最終日にはシラキュース(ニューヨーク州)にある、中央ニューヨーク全域の革新エコシステムの創出支援、その起業家育成をサポートする”The Tech Garden”を訪問しました。起業家の生の声が聞け、モチベーション向上の効果を得ました。
On the last day, Mr. Jaffrey Taylor, Clarkson University’s Vice President of Student Affair, led Kyutech’s group to the Tech Garden in Syracuse. The Tech Garden is an organization that support entrepreneurs creating innovation ecosystems throughout central zone of New York.

クラークソン大学の学生と教員計５名は、２０１９年３月中旬に本学に訪問した後、東京で開催される精密工学会主催の第１２回国際マイクロメカニズムコンテストにも参加する予定です。
In the middle of March 2019, five members from Clarkson University will visit Kyutech and then will participate in the 12th International Micro Mechanism Contest organized by the Japan Society for Precision Engineering (JSPE) in Tokyo.
